1st Month on the Allotment

Got our first Allotment this month. Taken on a full size plot so lots of initial DIGGING to be done!! We managed to dig over the easy half in a couple of weekends, put in new grass paths and planted out the Garlic.

We now have the worst of the plot to dig over. It has not been worked for 3 years and there are strawberry runner and mole hills everywhere. We want to get this done before the end of November so we can manure the beds and then leave the winter weather and the worms to do the rest.

We are allotment virgins and have great plans for 2013. I will let you know of our successes and failures.
